LEO SYSTEM

The LEO SYSTEM is a conceptual slung firefighting device for helicopters which generates pressurised straight-stream of class A foam. The expanded and homogeneous foam is beneficial as an extinguishing agent and enhances aerial firefighting by optimizing dispersion over fire and  wildland fuels.

The LEO SYSTEM has been designed for pilots by pilots. The pilot has full control over the system through the ergonomic paddle joystick on the cyclic control as well as the cabin control box.

BENEFITS

  • Class A foam
  • Environmentally friendly. 100% fluorine-free and totally biodegradable
  • Highly efficient and cost effective
  • The long line allows users visibility to the effect and reduces downwash
  • Multipurpose (Direct attack, Parallel attack, Indirect attack and fire exposure protection)
  • High surface area foam application

KEY FEATURES

Fast filling by immersion

Delivers a stream of water, wetting agent, foam or retardant

Long lasting dispersal

Piolt controlled pressure, flow and foam percentatge

Pilot-operated capacity control

Salvo water drop

APPLICATION

High surface area foam application: Allows the pilot to anchor the fire line and to overlap the dispersals with precision, covering the hot spots and spot fires outside the perimeter.

MULTIPURPOSE

  1. DIRECT ATTACK Foam or wetting agent is applied directly to burning fuel.

  2. PARALLEL ATTACK Foam or wetting agent is applied parallel to, and just far enough from the fire edge to enable firefighters and equipment to work effectively

  3. INDIRECT ATTACK Foam or wetting agent is applied some considerable distance away from the fire’s active edge, in case of a fast spreading or high intensity fire and to utilise natural or constructed firebreaks in the topography.

  4. FIRE EXPOSURE PROTECTION Protect property that may be endangered by a wildfire
